Game Boy Pocket

Each GBP is built from a fully restored and refurbished official motherboard. The components used to customize it are carefully selected to ensure you the best possible gaming experience.

The new shells and buttons are of very good quality and feel close to the original. If you’re looking for a specific shell, feel free to contact me to discuss it.

Original shells in good condition are also available upon request. You can mix and match the button and rubber pad colors to customize your console.

The IPS is a modern, high-contrast screen with brightness adjustable directly via a key combination. It offers several display modes (classic, pixel grid, etc.) and lets you play in both black and white and color, replacing shades of gray with colors.

Two versions are available:

• The first is an IPS screen the same size as the original screen.
• The second is an IPS screen that is 22% larger than the original and laminated, preventing dust from getting between the screen and the glass.

  The new screen can be installed in either an original shell or a new shell.

Unlike classic battery mods built into the battery cover, the battery mod I install integrates its charging circuit directly into the Game Boy Pocket, preventing the battery from overheating while charging. It is the only safe battery mod. It also features "Charge & Play," allowing you to play while the console recharges.

The battery lasts at least 6 hours. It recharges with a standard 5V charger and a USB-to-USB-C cable. The USB-C port is located on the underside of the Game Boy, replacing the original DC port. A charging LED lights up while the battery is charging. This mod replaces the original voltage regulator, improving power consumption and current stability.

Capacitors have a limited lifespan. When they stop working, this can lead to various malfunctions. Replacing them extends the console's lifespan.

The voltage regulator is the lungs of the GBP: it converts power from the batteries or battery pack to run the motherboard. With batteries, there may sometimes not be enough power to run a new IPS screen. We therefore recommend replacing the original voltage regulator with a new one to optimize the GBP’s power consumption.

BucketMouse’s voltage regulator was specially designed to optimize the use of rechargeable batteries. FroggoCustoms’ regulator has LEDs that light up when the batteries are low.

If you opt for a battery mod, the new voltage regulator is already included.
