Game Boy Pocket User Manual
Display settings
The IPS screen color is adjusted using the touchpad (touch sensor) located at the top right on the side. Simply press it to change the color.
It is recommended to disable the touchpad via the menu when you do not need it to prevent the color from changing unintentionally (see below).
A menu can be accessed by pressing SELECT + A + B (only accessible if a cartridge is inserted).
Menu operation:
- A and B to navigate and change values
- SELECT + A to confirm
- SELECT + B to go back
Menu options:
- Brightness: Brightness level
- Battery display: Battery status display
- Color Adjust: Color filters (for GB games)
- Pixel Effect: Display modes (scanlines, pixel grid, etc.)
- FRM: Sprite transparency setting. This helps prevent objects on the screen from flickering in certain games. Set to OFF by default.
- Touch Shortcut: Enable and disable touchpads
The Battery mod
The battery charges with a USB-C to USB cable. USB-C to USB-C cables are not compatible. This cable should be plugged into a standard 5V USB power supply (for example, a phone charger).
When the battery is charging, an LED lights up. When the battery is 100% charged, the LED turns off. There is no need to wait for the battery to be completely charged before unplugging it. Similarly, the battery does not need to be completely discharged before charging it.
If the battery is swollen or has a strange smell, unplug it and remove it, then contact me for a replacement. The battery comes with a 2-year warranty.
The RGB LEDs
To access the settings, press and hold the START + A + B buttons until the LEDs flash:
- START changes the color of the Start and Select buttons
- UP changes the color of the D-pad
- A changes the color of the A and B buttons
- B adjusts the LED brightness
The settings will be saved after 3 seconds of inactivity.
